Located in Panama City 's Punta Pacifica district, Los Faros de Panama will overlook spectacular views of the bay, the Panama Canal and the mountains, while just minutes to the city's business district, the John Hopkins Hospital and Tocumen International Airport. Spanning more than three hectares (eight acres), Los Faros de Panama will include some 2000 luxury residences, and a five-star, 300-room hotel. The first of three dazzling postmodern towers, designed by leading U.K. architects Chapman Taylor, is set to be completed in 2009. Soaring to more than 1135 feet (346 meters) in height, Los Faros de Panama will boast one of the world's tallest residential towers. Grupo Mall, the Spanish consortium behind the ambitious development, held to its standard of environmentally-conscious construction, using recyclable materials, and wind and solar power to supplement energy needs. The mixed-use project also features a waste treatment plant, and an automatic household waste and recycling collection system.
